This trip to Vancouver was different than the one I had done a couple years ago with my friend Tiffany. The last trip we stayed in the city, did the tours and walked around eating and drinking. This time we did more of the surrounding Vancouver area, more nature, and it was great that it was all new for me too.
For our second day in Vancouver we first drove to Lynn Canyon park. It is in North Vancouver and is a free park with a suspension bridge, waterfalls and walking trails. It is not the famous Capilano suspension bridge, which you have to pay something like $35 to go see. We stick to the free stuff and it was actually really great.

The bridge was really cool except it moved quite a bit! It was over a big waterfall that was really pretty. We crossed the bridge and followed one of the paths through the huge trees, which the spanish love, along the river. At the top of the river was this little pool that people were wading in, dogs were swimming and there were even some crazy people who were jumping off the rocks. Probably not very smart. We hung out there for a bit watching the dogs and enjoying the really pretty color of the water. We continued up a massive staircase along the trail and managed to find the connection that looped us back around to the bridge. We went the wrong way to actually view the bottom of the waterfalls and by the time we got back to the bridge we were hungry and tired from walking so we decided not to walk down to see them..... next trip!

Next stop was lunch in the little town of Horseshoe Bay. It is north of Vancouver in the direction of Whistler. I had never been there before and thought it would be fun because it is where the B.C. ferries come in and out of. I thought the spanish would love watching the boats and being on the water. I picked a nice restaurant, the Boat House, which is on the marina and we watched the ferries come in and even saw an otter swimming around the boats. We enjoyed a nice lunch and afterwards walked around the marina, got some Starbucks and walked around the park.
