Pretty early on, according to my journal, I decided to keep a list of all the different thing about Spain (I said weird but I was less open minded then!) Here is what I said,

Weird Things About Spain
1) They eat tuna with everything
2) Everyone has a dog & they take them everywhere
3) There are no traffic laws. If I don't get run over by a car or baby stroller I'll be lucky.
4) no dryers so undies outside
5) everyone smokes, everywhere. even policemen
6) women are always dressed up
7) slot machines in a lot of cafes
8) all the napkins in every cafe say 'gracias por su visita'
9) people don't wait for crosswalks
10) They hose down the streets every night.
11) Everywhere has cigarette machines
12) vending machines have pop, candy, condoms and beer all in one
13) they leave food out all day and night and eat it the next day
14) stop signs say stop
15) motorcycles drive in between the lanes of traffic and they are so loud
16) most everything is dubbed on tv.
17) so many people wear neck braces
18) naked people are all over tv and advertisements
19) everyone makes out on the streets
20) our host-mom flushed left over salad down the toilet
21) mom's wear house dresses and slippers always in the house
22) street signs are on sides of buildings
23) wine is less than a dollar
24) napkins are like tissue paper
25) when you first meet someone you give them two kisses on their cheeks
26) They eat yogurt for dessert
27) lottery is a big deal
28) badets are in every bathroom
29) the garbage man comes every night
30) there are a lot of wedding dress stores (ironic I noticed this)
31) people stare like none other like you are a freak- no manners (direct quote here)
Who wants to move to Spain with me??!!
