Baby Music Class

We have being going to English music class every Saturday since September. We sing traditional english songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle and then the kids play. We started when Gabriela was around 6 months and continued when it moved to Saturdays. It has been great for Gabriela and so fun to watch all the kids grow and all learn to walk. Today was the last class before summer break and it was kind of sad to say goodbye. Gabriela loves her songs so much and she loves to dance and do all the moves that go along with them. She learned to sign please and thank you and to share a little bit as well. Most of the moms are English or American with a dutch mom and a couple spanish ones too. I'm happy it has been such a positive experience for both of us.

Family Vacation in Menorca Part 1

This year we planned a super-fantasic Freimuth family vacation to the Spanish island of Menorca in the Mediterranean. We were lucky to all get our schedules lined up, met in Madrid and flew together the hour flight to Menorca. We rented the perfect villa right on the beach, with its own pool, and right next to a bar. Life doesn't get much better than that people! We were very spoiled.
We split our time between touring the island, playing in the pool and building sandcastles at the beach. Gabriela had a blast being with Papa, Gigi and auntie Louie. She loved the beach and playing in the sand the most. We were surprised that she was very afraid of the pool because she loves her kiddie pool at home. But papa bought her a little blow up boat that she got in and we pulled her around.
We went to some great places on the island with Pablo as our tour guide. He lived there for a year when he was 19, playing basketball. This was his first time back and he had fun walking down memory lane.
We visited Mahon and toured the harbor and old town, we had the famous lobster in Fornells, met Pablo's old roommate and his family for a drink in Ciudatella, checked out some cool beaches and went to the posh cliff bar in Cala dem Porter.
At night, because we have a baby, we cooked dinner at home, bbqing, and drinking our fair share of the local gin and lots of wine.
It was great to relax, have lots of babysitters, be with family and get away from the real world. I was kind of depressed when it all ended! So we better do it again next year!!

Just arrived: first stop the beach bar next door

Auntie Louie is here!

We were lucky to have Auntie visit us in Madrid for a week before going on family vacation to Menorca. We all had fun showing her a baby's life. We went to parks, played games, ran around the house, colored, and sang songs. It was great to have Louie here so she could see our little world, help out mommy and spend some much needed time with Gabriela. Gabriela loved showing Auntie Louie how everything is done around here. She is very bossy sometimes!
