It wasn't a complete surprise since two weeks before we had our doctor try and tell us what it was but baby was facing backwards the whole time and we couldn't see the goods. But our doctor said she thought it was a girl so I was kind of thinking it was a girl. I think I would of been more surprised if it was a boy.
Our doctor or technician that did the ultrasound was very friendly so that made it fun. He made fun of my name and my accent but said he could because he is from Cuba and everyone in Spain makes fun of his accent. He was even speaking english so he was pretty entertaining. He was going through all the parts of the baby checking it out and telling the nurse information. All I understood was normal so I figured it is going well. We were both watching the screen as he was but to be honest I don't see hardly anything that is recognizable. I saw the heart and the head but that's about it. Then randomly he said, in english, it's a girl. I turn to Pablo who didn't hear and I said it's a girl and Pablo goes really?? I think he was kind of shocked but when we left the room he had the biggest smile on his face. But then I don't know if the smile was because he was nervous or happy!
We then proceed to call moms and family to share the news. But the most important news was that everything with the baby looked normal. She has all her parts and is growing. And the plus for mommy is she is measuring normal weight and height. I told her she can grow all she wants outside of me but inside she has to stay normal. We'll see if she listens to mommy!
Oh, and we don't have a name yet but when we do it will be revealed the day of her birth. So from now on you can refer to her as baby or Covadonga (a traditional Asturian name) I personally like Donga so take your pick!
