Happy Thanksgiving!

Our 9lb Turkey

Another Thanksgiving in Spain for us! But this year we are in a new house with a way bigger kitchen and way bigger fridge so things were a little easier! But that doesn't mean it went as smoothly! We invited Pablo's parents and Pablo's partner to share in my american tradition and they were very excited to try the new food. Jesus, Pablo's partner, even looked up on wikipedia what food was at Thanksgiving. He got very excited for the apple pie because that was like the movie 'American Pie'. Oh those Spaniards, they learn so much American culture from the movies!
Our meal went well even after a slight problem with the turkey. I took it out too early and didn't realize it wasn't cooked all the way until after everything else was ready. So we were about an hour behind schedule as we had to reheat the bird but once we sat down to eat and to me, everything tasted like Thanksgiving I knew we were good. The Spanish people were nice and ate all the food even though it was new and different. On the menu we had- turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, deviled eggs, apple pie and pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (made from scratch, as in from a real pumpkin, not canned!)
