Few Favorites......

My favorite things about living in the new place

1) Wednesday Market Day
There is an outdoor market every Wednesday where you can buy fruit & vegetables and other random things like underwear, olives or flowers. I've ventured out twice by myself to by veggis and I've made friends with the vendors.

2) Watching the sunset over the mountains from the french doors with a glass of wine.
The windows in our dinning room face west so we get to watch the sunset every evening

3) Watching the storms pass over the mountains

4) Picking tomatoes every morning
Our cherry tomatoes are doing so well

5) Living in a pueblo
We live in Fuencarral which until 1955-ish was its own town outside Madrid. Pueblos in Spain are very compact with tiny one-way streets buildings aren't any higher than 3 stories, usually, and they have the butcher, baker and candlestick maker. It is very different to live in a neighborhood like this than Las Tablas, which is very open and modern. Fuencarral has a history that makes you feel like you are really in Spain.
Living in a pueblo also means fiesta! Every pueblo has its own celebrations every year and we just happen to move in right when Fuencarral was having their fiesta. There were fireworks, decorations in the street, concerts, free paella, a bike race and other activities.
On of the houses in our neighborhood
6) The church bells ringing at 12 pm every day
