Pablo and Goonie had their first race last Sunday and did great. The race was in a cute little town called Trillo which is about an and a half from Madrid. It is situated along the Tajo river and was very pretty with all the trees turning colors.
There were about 55 runners with their dogs and they were all very excited at the start of the race. Goonie was nervous being around all these barking dogs and unknown people but when they all took off running he followed along and did just fine. They ran over the river and through the woods- 6 km (4 miles). Gabriela and I spent the next 30 minutes taking a tour of the town and found a point to watch daddy and Goonie run by. We are professional cheerleaders!
After the race we had a little picnic and watched the other races that included a kids category. Pablo already has visions of Gabriela joining him in the next couple years!
