Easter

This year was the first Easter for Gabriela AND Pablo. Well the first Easter American style. Easter in Spain is a week long tradition that basically consists of processions. People dressed in scary outfits take statues of different saints and virgins out of churches and walk around the streets of the town. This is an extremely important thing to a lot of people and brings them to tears to see the statue outside the church. For the people carrying the statue it is quite a lot of work because they are so heavy. We tend to pass on this tradition and instead opt for the Easter Bunny!!! So much cuter and less serious! And you get candy!
So because we have a baby we have to start putting these traditions in place and Pablo needs to know how this thing goes down! I had the Easter baskets out, filled with grass and plastic eggs. My mom was so kind to send us the very most important thing and must have for Easter- Cadbury eggs and jelly beans. Easter morning the Easter bunny hid eggs around the house and Pablo and Gabriela went on the hunt to find them all. Pablo and I decorated eggs in the afternoon because he had never done it before and I cooked dinner. Ham, scalloped potatoes and carrots!
Traditional cake called Pegarata
